Tulsa's Lipscomb Named WAC Player of the Week
Nov. 28, 2000 University of Tulsa junior punter Casey Lipscomb was selected as the Western Athletic Conference's Special Teams Players of the Week, as announced by the league office today. Lipscomb, from Miami, Okla., punted five ties for 233 yards and a 46.6-yard average in Tulsa's 38-3 victory over Nevada. Lipscomb had two punts inside the 20-yard line, including a long of 71 yards that was downed at the one-yard line. His 71-yard punt was the second-longest of his career. Earlier this season, Lipscomb tied for the second-longest punt in school history with a 79-yarder against Rice.
On the year, Lipscomb punted 64 times for a 39.3 average and placed
13 punts inside the 20-yard line.
