Tulsa's contingent arrived in Memphis at 12 noon for a site visit, which culminated with the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Kickoff Dinner at 6:30 pm. The two coaches participated in various media interviews and a 4:00 pm press conference.

"Our football team is thrilled to be coming to Memphis to play in the 2012 AutoZone Liberty Bowl. What a great site, what a great venue and what a great date. The Iowa State Cyclones are thrilled to be here on December 31st," said the Cyclones head coach.

"This game is exciting for our fans. There will be thousands that pile into their cars and make the trip down here. The streets of Memphis and Liberty Bowl Stadium will be filled with the cardinal and blue," added Rhoads.

"On behalf of our President Stead Upham and the rest of The University of Tulsa we are so excited and thankful to be here at the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and the city of Memphis," said Blankenship. "We had to earn our way to this bowl game. Because of our affiliation in Conference USA it's been an exciting journey for us.
