Tulsa in 14th Place at UTSA Oak Hills Invitational

San Antonio, Texas - After its first two rounds of the spring season, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's golfers sit in 14th place at the par-71 UTSA Oak Hills Invitational. The Hurricane carded rounds of 302 and 300 for a 602 total following 36 holes on Monday at the Oak Hills Golf Course. Oklahoma leads the 15-team field with a four-over par 572 score, four strokes ahead of second-place Baylor (576). Texas Tech (577), Louisiana-Lafayette (580) and Wichita State (586) round out the fop-five first day finishers. Tulsa newcomer Colton Staggs, playing in his first collegiate tournament after transferring from Oklahoma State, led the Hurricane with rounds of 74 and 73 for a five-over par score of 147. Staggs is in 25th place and sits two strokes ahead of sophomore John Young Kim, who finished the day in 37th place after rounds of 76-73 for a 149 score. Sophomore Matt Mabrey is in 42nd place after shooting a 36-hole total of 150. He turned in an opening round two-over par 73, but finished with a second round score of 77 for a 150 total. Juniors Mark Mumford and Chris Worrell are tied for 68th place with opening day scores of 156. Oklahoma's Abraham Ancer and Louisiana-Lafayette's Andrew Noto led the individual field after turning in rounds of three-under par 139. The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday. Team Results 1.
