TULSA MEN'S GOLF TEAM PLACES NINTH AT THE JOHN HAYT INVITATIONAL

Jacksonville, Fla. - The Tulsa men's golf team finished in ninth place at the 54-hole John Hayt Invitational on Tuesday. The Hurricane carded a final round 299 to finish with an 885 total at the par-72 Sawgrass Country Club.
Tulsa was led by a pair of golfers finishing among the top-15 in the field of 84 participants. Senior Logan McCracken turned in a final round 75 for a an even-par 216 total for 13th place, while junior Matt Mabrey finished one stroke behind McCracken with a score of 217 after carding a third round score of one-over par 73 today.
No. 2-ranked Oklahoma State set a new tournament record with a 54-hole score of 19-under par 845. The Cowboys were followed by second-place UCF with a nine-under par score of 855. UAB (859), North Texas (870) and Troy (878) rounded out the top-five teams.
Tulsa junior Colton Staggs finished in 58th place with a score of 228, followed by senior Mark Mumford in 73rd place at 232 for the tournament. Junior Cody Kent finished in 75th place with a 233 score.
Tulsa will be back in action at the Louisiana Classics, March 10-11, at the Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, La.
