Tulsa Golfers in 5th Place at Louisiana Classics

Lafayette, Louisiana - The Tulsa men's golf team is in fifth place after two rounds at the 28th Annual Louisiana Classics. The Hurricane carded rounds of 303 and 287 for a 590 score at the par 72 Oakbourne Country Club. Tulsa was led by a 15th-place score by senior Chris Worrell with a total of 146 after rounds of 76 and 70 on Monday. En route to a one-under par second round score of 287, the Hurricane had two golfers card two-under par 70s and one with an even par 72. Matt Mabrey finished with a 147 total for 20th place, while Colton Staggs had rounds of 78 and 70 for a 148 score and 27th place overall. Mark Mumford scored a second round total of 72 and finished the day with a 149 score for 31st place. Logan McCracken finished with a 58th place score of 155. Illinois leads the team race with a two-round total of 579 for a seven-stroke lead over second-place Kansas (586). Kent State (587) is in third place followed by Southeastern Louisiana (589) and Tulsa (590) rounding out the top-5 teams. Individually, LSU's Zach Wright leads the 84-player field with a six-under par 138 score. The 54-hole tournament concludes on Tuesday with the final 18 rounds. Team Results 1. Illinois 292-287=579 2.
