Lafayette, La. - The Tulsa men's golf team finished in fourth-place tie at the 28th Annual Louisiana Classics. The Hurricane carded its second straight one-under par round with a 287 on Tuesday for a 13-over par 877 total. In final round action, Tulsa counted a one-under par 71 and three even-par scores of 72 at the Oakbourne Country Club.

Tulsa senior Chris Worrell placed 13th overall with a score of two-over par 218 after turning in a final round 72. Colton Staggs had Tulsa's best round of the day with a one-under par 71 for a three-over par 219 tournament total as he birdied holes 6, 11 and 15 after starting his final round on the par-4 fifth hole. Staggs bogeyed the first and second holes, his 15th and 16th of the day.

Matt Mabrey finished in 24th place with a score of 220 after turning in a final round of 73. Mark Mumford and Logan McCracken each turned in rounds of 72 on Tuesday and finished in 26th and 44th place, respectively. Mumford had a three-round total of 221, while McCracken carded 227.

Illinois won the team race with a three-round total of 866 for an eight-stroke victory over second-place LSU (84), while Houston (876), Tulsa and Kent State (877) rounded out the top five teams.

Individually, LSU's Zach Wright captured medalist accolades with a seven-under par 209 score.

Tulsa will be in action next at the Desert Shootout, March 21-23.
