Tucson, Arizona - The Tulsa men's golf team captured the team championship at the National Invitational Tournament on Tuesday. The Hurricane carded a final round 283 to finish the 54-hole tournament with an 11-over par score of 867 at the Omni Tucson National Country Club as the teams played both the par 70 Sonoran Course and the par-72 Catalina Course.

The Hurricane outdistanced second-place SMU by seven strokes. SMU carded a score of 874 and was followed by host Arizona (876) in third place, while Indiana and TCU (882) tied for fourth place.

Tulsa junior Stephen Carney turned in a final round score of three-under par 69 to finish in second place overall with a three round total of three-under par 211, while sophomore Chris Worrell had another round of two-under par 70 for a final score of even par 214 for sixth place.

A pair of freshman, John Young Kim and Johannes Veerman, finished in 14th and 26th place respectively. Kim shot a final round five-under par 67 and had a 54-hole total of five-over par 219, while Veerman carded a tournament total of 223.

Junior Arie Fauzi rounded out the Tulsa scorers with a 237 total for 82nd place
