Tulsa Men Golfers in 9th Place at The Woodlands All-American

The Woodlands, Texas - The Tulsa men's golf team is in ninth place after two rounds on Monday with rounds of 289-290 for a 579 total at The Woodlands All-American Intercollegiate. Tulsa's Matt Mabrey and Chris Worrell are tied for 20th place after the duo shot identical rounds of 70 and 73 for a score of 143. Mabrey's best round saw the freshman birdie six times, while hitting two bogeys and one double bogey. Worrell's round of 70 came with birdies on holes 4, 10, 11 and 18 and two bogeys. Senior Stephen Carney carded rounds of 74-72 for a 146 total and 39th place at the par-72 The Woodlands Country Club course, while junior Mark Mumford is in 52nd place with rounds of 76-72 for a 148 score. Senior Andre' Tourinho shot rounds of 75-74 for a 149 total and 58th place. Arkansas holds the team lead with a score of 556, followed by North Texas (560), Texas A&M (562), SMU (571) and Houston (574) rounding out the top-5 teams. Texas A&M's Geoff Shaw holds a one-stroke lead for the individual lead after shooting rounds of 69-67 for an eight-under par 136. The final round gets underway Tuesday morning at 8:00 am.
