Texarkana, Arkansas - The Tulsa men's golf team moved up one spot to sixth place after the second round at the Conference USA Championship at the par-72 Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Arkansas. TU shot a nine-over par 297 today for a two-day 588 total.

Memphis holds the lead with an eight-under par 568, while Houston sits four strokes back with a 572 in second place. Southern Miss and 26th-ranked UAB are tied for third with identical 574's, and 49th-ranked SMU is in fifth-place with a 581 total.

Sophomore Rob Laird carded a four-under par 68 today, Tulsa's best round of the tournament, for a two-round 139 total and a third-place mark. Junior Nicolas Geyger is in 18th place with a 147 total, while classmate Ryan Brooks is one stroke back in 22nd place. Freshmen Ville Vaisanen and Philip Reiser are in 50th- and 54th-place, respectively.

UAB's 81st-ranked Zach Sucher broke from the pack today with his round of 66 for a 134 total and a three-stroke lead.

The final round will be played tomorrow.
