Tulsa Men Finish in Sixth Place at the C-USA Golf Championship

TEXARKANA, Ark. - The Tulsa men's golf team finished in sixth place at the 2013 Conference USA Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday. Tulsa carded a final round score of 293 and finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 881 at the par 72, 6,935-yard Texarkana Country Club.
All five Tulsa golfers finished the tournament separated from the next by one stroke. Tulsa senior Chris Worrell turned in Tulsa's best round of the day for the second straight day with a score of one-under par 71. He finished the tournament with a six-over par 222.
Junior Mark Mumford finished one stroke back at 223 to finish in 309th place, while junior Logan McCracken finished in 34th place at 223. Matt Mabrey place 35th at 224, while Colton Staggs was tied for 40th place at 226.
Staggs turned in the best round for the Hurricane on Tuesday with a score of two-under par 70 with five birdies and three bogeys on the day.
Houston captured the team title with a final round 291 for a seven-under par total of 857, finishing three strokes ahead of second-place SMU (860). UCF (863), UAB (873) and Marshall (878) rounded out the top-five teams. Houston's Roman Robledo turned in a one-under par 71for a three-round total of eight-under par 208 and defeated second round leader Bryson DeChambeau of SMU by two strokes, 208 to 210.
