Tulsa Men's Golf Team in 9th Place at NCAA Regional

The Tulsa men's golf team is in a ninth place tie after the opening round of the NCAA Fayetteville Regional. The Golden Hurricane shot a score of 303 at the par 72 Blessings Golf Club on Thursday to share ninth-place with UMKC and Liberty.
Juniors Logan McCracken and Mark Mumford turned in the best rounds for Tulsa on Thursday with two-over par scores of 74. The duo is in 25th place, while senior Chris Worrell is one stroke back with a first round total of 75 for 39th place.
Illinois carded a first round score of 282 to lead the 14-team field, while Texas is in second place at 285 and is followed by Oklahoma State (286), Kent State (288) and Arkansas (290) rounding out the top-5 teams.
Individually, Illinois' Chris Danielson has a two-stroke lead over Corey Conners of Kent State and Oklahoma State's Jordan Niebrugge. Danielson turned in a score of seven-under par 65.
Tulsa will tee-off from hole 10 on Friday beginning at 8:50 am.
At the completion of the three-day, 54-hole regional tournament, the low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Finals. The finals will be conducted May 28-June 2 at The Capital City Club Crabapple Course in Atlanta, Georgia.
