Tulsa Golfers in Third Place at Golfweek Conference Challenge

Burlington, Iowa - The Tulsa men's golf team sits in third place with a two-round total of 580 after today's second round of 287 at the 54-hole Golfweek Conference Challenge. The third and final round will be played on Tuesday at the par-72 Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa. Missouri maintains a three-stroke lead as they turned in identical rounds of 286 for a 572 total, followed by Wake Forest with a two-day 575 score. TU owns a one-stroke lead over fourth-place Ball State (581), while Central Arkansas rounds out the top-five with a 582 total. Chris Worrell, a senior from Enid, Okla., leads the way for the Golden Hurricane with a two-day score of 138. He carded a 67 today, the best of the field, as he birdied five holes, including four in the back nine, and had one bogey. Junior-transfer Logan McCracken, took five less strokes today to card a 70 in the second round and a 145 total for 13th-place, while sophomore Matt Mabrey has tallied a 74 on both days for a 148 score and 25th-place. Mark Mumford is in 63rd place with a 157 total and Colton Staggs is two strokes back in 68th place. Missouri's Jace Long leads the field with a two-day 137 total, while Worrell is just one stroke back in second place. Iowa's Steven Ihm (139), Wake Forest's Thomas Birdsey (140) and San Francisco's Taylor Travis (141) round out the top-five individuals.
