HURRICANE MEN IN FIFTH PLACE

Birmingham, Ala. - The Tulsa men's golf team is in fifth place following two rounds at the Graeme McDowell Shoal Creek Invitational. The Hurricane carded identical rounds of 289 for a 578 score at the par-72 Shoal Creek Country Club. Tulsa sits just two strokes out of second place and seven strokes behind tournament leader Houston's 571 score. LSU is in second place at 576, followed by a third-place tie between host UAB and Memphis with scores of 577. Tulsa senior Chris Worrell shot identical even-par round scores of 72 for a 144 total to sit in 12th place heading into the final round on Tuesday. Mark Mumford and Colton Staggs each tallied identical 73s in each of the two rounds for a two-over par 146 total. Matt Mabrey carded a one-under par 71 on the first 18 holes, but went to four-over par on the final 18 holes to finish with a 147 score for 24th place. Logan McCracken, who is in 29th place, started out the day with a score of 77, but rebounded on the final 18 holes to score a one-under par 71 for a 148 total. North Texas' Rodolfo Cazaubon holds a one-stroke lead in the individual race with a six-under par 138, while LSU's duo of Stewart Jolly and Curtis Thompson sit in a second-place tie at five-under par 139.
