TULSA GOLFERS PLACE SIXTH AT ROD MYERS INVITATIONAL

Durham, NC - Tulsa's Logan McCracken finished in fifth place at the Rod Myers Invitational on Sunday afternoon as the Golden Hurricane team placed sixth overall in the 11-team field. McCracken carded a final round two-under par 70 in final round action at the par-72 Duke Golf Club.
The Hurricane turned in a score of 291 on Sunday for a 54-hole total of 11-over par 875 for its sixth-place performance. Host Duke claimed the team title by 12 strokes with a 12-under par 852 score, followed by North Carolina (864), Charlotte (867), Liberty (872) and Iowa (873) to round out the top-5 teams.
McCracken was even par after his first nine holes, then birdied the par-5 11th hole, the par-4 13th and the par-5 14th hole. He took that three-under par score into the par-4 18th hole, but bogeyed the final hole and finished the day at two-under par 70. He finished the tournament with a 54-hole total of three-under par 213 to lead the Hurricane.
Individually, Duke's Julian Suri and North Carolina's Clark Palmer tied for medalist honors with a seven-under par score of 209.
Tulsa will be back in action at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, October 29-30, to close out the fall campaign.
