Tulsa Finishes in Ninth Place at Country Club of Louisiana Intercollegiate

Baton Rouge, Louisiana - The University of Tulsa men's golf team finished in ninth place in a 15-team field at the Country Club of Louisiana Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Hurricane scored a final round 292 and finished with a seven-over par 872 at the Country Club of Louisiana Golf Course in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Sophomore Chris Noel, a Tulsa Bishop Kelley High School product, placed sixth with rounds of 71-70 and a final round four-under par 68 for his best collegiate performance of seven-under par 209. Senior Kevin Henry finished in a 29th place tie with a score of 219. Sophomore David Inglis turned in his second consecutive one-over par 73 score on Tuesday, and finished in a 42nd place tie with teammate and redshirt freshman Aaron Bell. Sophomore Neil Trimm carded a final round 77 for a 226 score and finished in 60th place.
UAB's Graeme McDowell scored a 12-under par 204 for the tournament and captured medallist honors, while leading UAB to the team title with an eight-under par team score of 856. Auburn placed second, followed by Mississippi, North Florida and LSU rounding out the top-five teams.
The tournament concluded the fall season for the Hurricane. Tulsa will be in action next at the Ping Arizona Intercollegiate, February 4-5, 2002.
