Tulsa Men's Golf Team Back in Action at Louisiana Classics

Lafayette, Louisiana - The Tulsa men's golf team is back in action with an appearance at the 26th Annual Louisiana Classics, Monday-Tuesday, March 7-8. Two rounds will be played on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,898-yard Oakbourne Country Club.
The Hurricane will be competing against five other schools from Conference USA. The 15-team field includes host Louisiana-Lafayette, LSU, Illinois, UAB, Kent State, Southern Miss, Southeastern Louisiana, SMU, Kansas, Memphis, Houston, UALR, Tulsa, Texas State and South Alabama.
Tulsa is coming off of an eighth place performance at the John Hayt Collegiate and also had a fourth place finish at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational earlier this spring season.
Junior Arie Fauzi paces the Hurricane men with a 73.3 stroke average in 15 rounds this season, and has turned in three top-20 performances in five tournaments. Sophomore Chris Worrell has come on strong in the last three events for Tulsa, finishing among the top-20 at each tournament. He had a team-best 11th place performance in Tulsa's last outing at the John Hayt Collegiate.
Worrell and freshman Johannes Veerman are narrowly behind Fauzi with stroke averages of 73.6 and 743.7, respectively.
The tournament will begin on Monday with a shotgun start at 7:30 am (CT).
