Indianapolis, Indiana - The University of Tulsa men's golf team was selected to participate in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship Regional competition, it was announced tonight at 9:00 pm (ET). Tulsa will play in the 12-team field at the Greensboro Regional played at the Grandover Resort East Course in Greensboro, North Carolina.

A total of 81 teams will participate in six 54-hole regional tournaments, May 17-19, as the low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA championship finals.

Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of the three regionals, while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams.

Since the regional competition began in 1989 Tulsa has made 22 of the 24 regional events. Tulsa will be looking to advance to the NCAA Championship Finals for the first time since 2007.

The championship finals will be held May 29-June 3 at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California and is hosed the University of Southern California.
