TULSA GOLFERS EARN GCAA ACADEMIC HONORS

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa golfers Chris Worrell and Mark Mumford, both seniors-to-be, were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Worrell, who earlier this year was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, has maintained a 3.87 grade point average in finance. Mumford has a 3.24 GPA also in finance. Worrell placed among the top-15 in three tournaments in 2011-12, including a season-best ninth place at the Northern Intercollegiate. He had a team-best 73.5 stroke average in 36 rounds of golf. Mumford finished the season with a 74.5 stroke average, while finishing among the top-30 five times. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2.
