Tulsa's Akeil Barrett Named to Two National Teams of the Week

Barrett had two goals and an assist in C-USA Championship game

TULSA - A two-year letterwinner . . . transferred to Tulsa from Akron prior to his sophomore season . . . has started in 34 of 41 games . . . has 14 goals and 12 assists for 40 career points.

JUNIOR (2013) - Started in 18 of 20 games . . . tallied seven goals and eight assists for 22 points . . . had two goals against FAU . . . scored on a penalty kick against Charlotte . . . also had goals against SIU-Edwardsville, Valparaiso, and South Carolina both in the regular season and in tournament play . . . his goal against South Carolina in the regular season was the game-winner . . . attempted 44 shots, 27 of which were on goal . . . ranked first in assists, and second in goals, points and shots for Tulsa . . . ranked second in assists, fifth in points, seventh in goals and ninth in shots in Conference USA . . . was named to the All-Conference USA second team . . . was selected to the C-USA All-Tournament team . . . tabbed to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region third team . . . was selected as TU's "Man of the Match" against Ohio State, Old Dominion, Charlotte and South Carolina.

PRIOR TO TULSA - Transferred to Tulsa from Akron where he played in nine games and scored two goals as a true freshman in 2011 . . . scored 52 goals, including 15 game-winners, and added 37 assists at Calabar High School . . . tallied a school-best 19 goals to set a single-season record as a senior . . . was a two-time CHS Player of the Year . . . played club soccer for Harbour View FC U-20's and Meadheaven FC.
