Hurricane duo help defeat SIU-Edwardsville
TULSA – Was a four-year letterwinner . . . returned to Tulsa prior to the 2013 season after completing his two-year Mormon Mission trip in California . . . started in 52 of 85 games played . . . had 36 goals and 14 assists for 86 career points . . . ended his career ranked fifth in points and sixth in goals among Tulsa’s career leaders . . . his first three seasons came in 2008-10, then he went on a two-year mission before returning in 2013.
RED-SHIRT SENIOR (2014) – Started in 10 of 19 games . . . had three goals and five assists for 11 points . . . scored goals against SIUE, Oral Roberts and SMU . . . picked up assists vs. SIUE, Oral Roberts, USF, Memphis and SMU . . . attempted a team-high 40 shots, 24 of which were on goal . . . ranked fifth in assists and ninth in shots in The American . . . was named The American Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 1 . . . was selected as TU’s “Man of the Match” against SIUE, SMU and Temple during the regular season, and then again vs. SMU in the conference tournament.
SENIOR (2013) – Played in four games before suffering a season-ending injury . . . received a medical hardship . . . attempted three shots, one of which was on goal.
JUNIOR (2010) – Started in 15 of 21 games . . . had nine goals and two assists for 20 points . . . scored his first career hat trick in the first game of the season against Seattle . . . also had two goals against Western Illinois, and one each against Saint Louis, Missouri State, Creighton and FIU . . . picked up an assist against FIU and Kentucky . . . attempted 55 shots, 29 of which were on goal . . . two of his goals were game winners . . . was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List . . . was selected to the C-USA Preseason Team and was the league’s Preseason Offensive Player of the Year . . . was named to the All-C-USA third team . . . selected to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region first team . . . picked up College Soccer News and Soccer America Preseason All-America honors . . . was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Top-100 Upperclassmen list and was named to the TDS C-USA Top-20 Players list . . . selected as the MVP and named to the SMU Classic All-Tournament team . . . was also named to the Tulsa Marriott Southern Hills Hurricane Classic All-Tournament team . . . was TU’s “Man of the Match” against Seattle.
SOPHOMORE (2009) – Started in 17 of 21 games played . . . led TU with 13 goals and three assists for 29 points . . . his goals against Florida International, Kentucky and Northwestern were game-winners . . . attempted 65 shots, 42 of which were on goal . . . ranked 17th in the nation with 0.62 goals per game and 26th with 1.38 points per game . . . ranked first in shots (65), goals (13) and points (29), and third in game-winning goals (3) among all C-USA players . . . was named to the C-USA Preseason Team, the All-Tournament Team and first-team All-C-USA . . . selected as the C-USA Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 19 and Nov. 9 . . . was named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week on Oct. 19, and the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week on Oct. 5, Oct. 19 and Nov. 16 . . . named the Top Drawer Soccer Player of the Week on Nov. 16 and earned honorable mention Team of the Season accolades . . . picked up NSCAA All-Midwest Region first team honors and went on to earn NSCAA All-America third-team accolades . . . was selected as TU’s “Man of the Match” against Saint Louis, Florida International, UAB, SMU and Kentucky. PRIOR TO TULSA – Was a four-year letterwinner at Broken Arrow High School . . . tallied 35 goals and had 10 assists for 80 career points . . . picked up Tulsa World all-metro first team accolades, and was named to the all-conference, all-district and all-state teams as a senior . . . served as the Tulsa Soccer Club captain for six years, and earned 2006 Tulsa Thunder Cup MVP honors.
PERSONAL – A biology/pre-med major . . . born May 15, 1990 . . . one of four children of Brian and Andrea Neil . . . was named to the Tulsa Dean’s List and C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll as a senior.
