Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.

SENIOR (2011) - Started in 12 of 13 games played . . . missed four games due to injury . . . had three shots, one of which was on goal . . . was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List . . . was tabbed as the C-USA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year . . . was a College Soccer News and Soccer America Preseason All-America selection . . . was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Top-100 Upperclassmen list.
JUNIOR (2010) - Started all 21 games . . . scored the game-winning goal against UAB and had a goal against Memphis . . . earned an assist against Lipscomb . . . attempted 19 shots, seven of which were on goal . . . helped post shutouts over Western Illinois, SIU-Edwardsville, UAB, Kentucky and Bradley . . . was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List . . . picked up All-C-USA first team accolades . . . was named a Top Drawer Soccer C-USA Top-20 Player to Watch . . . was selected as TU's "Man of the of the Match" against Memphis and Marshall . . . was a C-USA Preseason Team honoree and was voted as the C-USA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year . . . picked up NSCAA All-Region honors.
SOPHOMORE (2009) - Started in all 22 games . . . scored a goal against UCF and the game-winning goal against Marshall in the C-USA Championship game . . . picked up an assist against Marshall during the regular season . . . attempted five shots, four of which were on goal . . . helped TU post shutouts over Missouri State, Northern Illinois, Florida International, Kentucky, Memphis, Marshall and Northwestern . . . was named to the NIU Invitational and SMU Classic All-Tournament teams . . . was selected as Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Year and earned C-USA all-conference first team accolades . . . selected to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region first team . . . named as TU's "Man of the Match" against Cal State-Northridge and top-ranked Akron.
FRESHMAN (2008) - Started 20 of 21 games played . . . scored his first career goal against #6 SMU . . . picked up assists against Penn State and South Carolina . . . attempted seven shots, two of which were on goal . . . was named to the Penn State Classic All-Tournament team . . . selected to the C-USA All-Freshmen team.
PRIOR TO TULSA - Was a four-year letterwinner at Edmond Memorial High School . . . scored 44 goals and had 20 assists for 108 career points at EMHS . . . tallied six goals and had five assists as a senior . . . helped his EMHS team win the Class 6A State Championship during his senior campaign . . . as a senior, named first-team all-Oklahoma by the Edmond Sun . . . posted 21 goals and had 11 assists for 53 points as a junior.
PERSONAL - A management major . . . born March 23, 1990 . . . one of two sons of Dorty and Juanita Chavez.
