Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.

PRIOR TO TULSA - Was a four-year letterwinner at Union High School . . . scored 70 career goals at UHS . . . was tabbed as the Oklahoma's Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior . . . notched 22 goals and 10 assists during his senior season . . . helped lead UHS to a No. 11 national ranking in the ESPNHS Fab 50 poll . . . was the 2012 Tulsa World Metro Player of the Year . . . was named as the UHS Player of the Year and MVP as a senior . . . a two-time selection to the Tulsa World's all-metro team and a two-time all-state performer . . . earned a No. 81 national ranking and a No. 4 regional ranking by Top Drawer Soccer . . . played club soccer for the Tulsa Soccer Club 94, where he helped capture the Disney College Cup, the Region III Championship and the US National League Championship, while also finishing third at US Nationals . . . was a member of the US Region III Olympic Development Team and was a US National Team pool player.
PERSONAL - An arts and sciences major . . . born February 25, 1994 . . . son of Ana Padilla and the late Gustavo Mata . . . his brother, Omar, is a senior on the Tulsa soccer team.
