Tulsa Men's Soccer Teams Falls to Missouri State, 2-1 Aug. 14, 2012
Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Missouri State in an exhibition contest on Tuesday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Cristian Mata put TU on the board in the 41st minute as he punched in a goal off a pass from Miguel Zapata to give Tulsa a 1-0 lead at the break. Eric Martin knocked in a free ball at the 67:43 mark to tie the contest and Cole Alexander gave the Bears the go-ahead goal as he got past the keeper and scored into an open net. Mata had two shots, both of which were on goal, while Akeil Barrett added one attempt. Mark Pais logged the first 45 minutes in goal and earned two saves, while Michael Murray finished the game between the posts and had three saves. MSU had a 10-7 lead in shots, including a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal, and the Bears had a 6-5 lead in corner kicks. TU will take on Denver in the final preseason warm-up on Saturday, Aug. 18th in Denver, Colo.
