Omar Mata and Cristian Mata led the Tulsa men's soccer team to a 3-0 shutout over Loyola Marymount on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, Calif. TU moved to 3-2 on the season, while LMU fell to 1-3-1 overall.

"We talked about being better at passing, better at closing down, better at set pieces and better at defending after Friday's game, and I thought the guys took it to heart," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "We combined quite well and played a very good game from start to finish."

Cristian scored the game-winner as he picked up the ball at the end line, cut back and shot at the 10:33 mark. His brother, Omar, tallied his first goal of the season in the 39th minute as he headed in a cross by Akeil Barrett to give Tulsa a 2-0 lead at the break. Cristian scored his third goal of the season in the 63rd minute as he punched in a goal from eight yards out off a pass from Bryce Follensbee.

Both teams had seven shots, while the Golden Hurricane held a 6-2 lead in shots on goal, and the Lions had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
