Jose Parada scored Tulsa's lone goal in a 1-0 win over Northern Illinois on Friday night in the NIU Invitational in DeKalb, Illinois. The 19th-ranked Golden Hurricane moved to 2-1-1 on the season, while the Huskies fell to 1-2-1 overall.

"We played pretty well," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "We had a good amount of possession in the first half and created a couple of good chances against a team that is very direct and gets forward quickly. We handled the pressure well. It was a tough game and we are excited to get the win."

Parada's goal came in the 74th minute as he drilled the ball into an open net off a pass from Kilian Poeschk.

The Golden Hurricane and Huskies each attempted eight shots in the contest, while TU had a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal. Parada, Ashley McInnes and Austin Neil led TU's attack with two shots each.

In goal, Andy Aguilar recorded two saves in 90 minutes for 15 saves this season.
