Final Stats

Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa's all-star forward combination of junior Kyle Brown and sophomore Ryan Pore each scored one goal in each half to help the 22nd-ranked Golden Hurricane defeat Evansville, 4-2, in a Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer match at UE's Black Beauty Field.

Tulsa improved to 8-3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Valley, while Evansville dropped to 6-3-2 and 1-1. Sunday's loss ended a five-match unbeaten streak for the Aces, and also stopped their home-field winning streak at five. Evansville's defense had not surrendered more than one goal in a game since August.

Evansville jumped to a 1-0 lead just six minutes into the match on Dan Bigham's 25-yard shot from the right side that found the far corner of the net past Tulsa junior goalkeeper Terry Boss. Brown tied it at 1-1 when he went around a defender and then around UE keeper Troy Perkins to find an open net and an easy goal from five yards out. Tulsa took the lead at 42:38 when Pore raced up the right side with the ball and past three UE defenders, then shot past Perkins from eight yards away to make it 2-1.

UE tied the match at 2-2 at 53:38 when sophomore forward Dan Broxup scored his eighth goal of the season, threading a direct kick from 22 yards into the near corner of the goal.

The game-winner came at 78:30 when Brown took a pass from freshman Brian McCurdy, beat one defender, and scored from six yards away. The Hurricane then iced it at 88:59 when Brown's shot rebounded off the right post to Pore, who kicked it in for Tulsa's fourth goal.
