Five players scored goals for the 20th-ranked Tulsa men's soccer team to lead the Golden Hurricane to a 5-2 win over Nebraska Omaha on Monday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. TU moved to 8-4 on the season, while UNO fell to 4-6-1 overall.

"I thought we responded well to going a goal down," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "Obviously they caught us on a counter-attack early on and the guy took his chance really well and scored a great goal. Our strikers all did a great job tonight, and it was great to have that kind of production. Everyone took their chances well. Defensively, our concentration level wasn't where it needed to be. We've been very good defensively over the last four or five games, we haven't given up many shots, but we were sloppy at times tonight."

Chava Garcia scored first for the Mavericks as he punched in a goal into the upper right corner from 25 yards out off an assist from Logan Mendez at the 12:37 mark. Cristian Mata evened the score in the 33rd minute as he knocked in a cross from four yards out from Matt Boullt. Bryce Follensbee then scored the go-ahead goal off a combination from Boullt to Cristian in the 38th minute to give TU a 2-1 lead at the break.

Tony Rocha drilled in his first goal of the season from 35 yards out up the middle off a pass from Cristian at the 62:26 mark, and two minutes later Omar Mata scored on a penalty kick to make it 4-1.

Mendez tallied a goal off a rebound attempt by Devin Diego in the 82nd minute for UNO's second goal on the night. Jon Wright would score his first goal on the year with just 57 seconds remaining off a cross from Follensbee for the final score.

Cristian concluded the night with a team-best seven shots, five of which were on goal, one goal and two assists. Follensbee added four shots, while Akeil Barrett and Rocha had three attempts. Mark Pais logged all 90 minutes in goal and recorded three saves for 43 on the year.

The Golden Hurricane had a 25-8 lead in shots, including a 13-5 advantage in shots on goal, while the Mavericks had a 5-3 lead in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action against Memphis on Oct. 13. Game time is set for 7:00 pm in Memphis, Tenn.
