Columbia, S.C. -

The 15th-ranked Tulsa men's soccer team claimed a 1-0 victory over 10th-ranked South Carolina on Saturday night at Stone Stadium in Columbia, S.C.  The Golden Hurricane moved to 7-2-2 on the season and 2-0-2 in Conference USA, while the Gamecocks fell to 8-4 overall and 2-1 in the league.

Senior Eric Burkholder picked up his second goal of the season and the 10th of his career off a pass from junior Diego Henriquez in the 54th minute for the only goal of the contest.

"Overall our work rate was good," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "We were pretty disciplined and the defense played very well. We are very happy to end this road trip with two wins and two shutouts."

The Gamecocks out-shot TU 11-6 and had a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal. Dominic Cervi picked up six saves in the contest.

The Golden Hurricane will return to action on Sunday, October 21st against UCF. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. (CST).
