Tulsa Men's Soccer Team Falls to UCF, 2-1

Orlando, Fla. - The Tulsa men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to UCF on Saturday night at the UCF Soccer Complex in Orlando, Fla. TU fell to 5-10 on the season and 1-5 in Conference USA, while the Knights moved to 9-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the league. "I thought we connected quite well, particularly in the first half," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "Blain and Justin played well at the back, and I think we played well enough to win, but we were just unfortunate. I was proud of what the guys put into the game and what they've put into this season." Quinn Starker punched in a goal with just 7:36 ticked off the clock and the Golden Hurricane maintained the 1-0 lead at the break. Nik Robson scored two quick goals in the 66th and 71st minutes to take the lead for UCF late in the game for the win. Omar Mata led the TU attack with four shots, while Stephen Roberson had two attempts. Michael Murray logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up one save. Tulsa had an 11-9 lead in shots, including a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal, and the Hurricane had an 8-2 lead in corner kicks.
