Tulsa, Oklahoma - The 2012 Tulsa men's soccer signing class was ranked ninth nationally by Top Drawer Soccer, as announced today by the same publication. The Hurricane signed six players for the 2012 freshman class, as well as senior-transfer Mark Pais. The freshman class includes Bradley Bourgeois, Bryce Follensbee, Marcus Jordan, Benjamin LaCourse, Cristian Mata and Tarik Salkicic.

TDS said of Tulsa's ranking, "Surprised? Don't be. Tom McIntosh and staff are staking a claim to run with the biggest dogs in college soccer."

"Obviously it is great recognition for the players that we have coming in here," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "Those players have all excelled with their various teams and it is a credit to the type of program we are building here. We can attract some of the top kids in the country and we want to continue to do that. We are very strong academically at Tulsa, we compete in one of the top-three conferences in the country and we strive to compete for a national title. Obviously the proof is in what they do here and this is just the beginning, but it is a great start and it will help grow our current program. This is a good recruiting class on top of another good recruiting class from 2011, and we want to be the type of program that can do that year-in and year-out."

Justin Cook is in his second season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, after serving the previous three years as a graduate assistant with the program.

"Two years ago we made Justin the recruiting coordinator and this is a great reward for him," McIntosh said. "This shows what he has done for us from the recruiting side. We knew it would take some time and now we are starting to see the benefit from adding that position. He was instrumental in making this class a reality."
