Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa Head Men's Soccer Coach Tom McIntosh announced the signing of five players for the 2014 freshman class, including Geoffrey Dee, Zachary Jackson, Albert Rocha, Jordan Speed and Zachary Stavrou.

"We have a lot of confidence in these five guys," McIntosh said. "We believe they will be able to come in and make an impact right away. They fill a lot of needs, they have the right character, and in addition to being excellent soccer players, they are all excellent students. We are also hopeful to sign five more student-athletes in the coming month."

A 5-11 midfielder from Germantown, Tenn., Dee played club soccer for the Shattuck St. Mary's Soccer Academy and is a four-star recruit by Top Drawer Soccer. He led his team to the 2012-13 USSDA National finals, and scored two goals and picked up 16 assists that season. Dee played for Houston High School as a freshman, helping his team post a 17-3-3 overall record and advanced to the state semifinals. For his efforts at HHS he was named as The Commercial Appeal's Best of Preps finalist and to the Tennessee all-state team. Dee trained with Werder Bremen in Germany in 2013.

Jackson, a 5-10 midfielder from Cypress, Texas, played club soccer for the Texas SC Houston and Houston Dynamo. He is a four-star recruit and a top-150 recruit by Top Drawer Soccer. He started in 70 of 77 games in the Academy League, scoring 17 goals, was called into three U17 US Men's National Team Camps and played in the 2011 USDA Select game.

A 5-9 midfielder from Spring, Texas, Rocha played club soccer for the Texans SC Houston. He led his team to two Dallas Cup appearances, the Academy playoffs twice and finished seventh in the nation at Finals Week in Houston. Albert's brother, Tony, will be a senior for Tulsa in 2014.

Speed, a 6-4 defender from Mansfield, Texas, played club soccer for the Dallas Texans U16 and U18 Academy. He is a four-star recruit and a top-150 recruit by Top Drawer Soccer. Most recently Speed played in the 2013 Dallas Cup Super Group, facing teams from Japan, Mexico and England. He also led his team to the 2011 NTX State Cup Championship and 2011-12 USSDA U15/16 Academy Central Conference Championship titles. Speed played for Mansfield High School as a freshman, helping his team finish as the District 5-5A Bi-District Champions and picked up second-team all-district accolades.

 

 

A 6-0 defender from Dallas, Texas, Stavrou played club soccer for the Solar Chelsea Academy where he led his team to the 2010, 2011 and 2012 NTX State Championships, 2010 and 2012 Disney finals, 2011 Dallas Cup finals, 2011 and 2012 Regional Championships, and 2013 USSF DA U16 National Championship finals.
