Tulsa Men's Soccer Team Hosts Two Top-Five Teams in Hurricane Classic

Tulsa, Oklahoma -The Tulsa men's soccer team will host the Hurricane Classic on Friday, August 31st and Sunday, September 2nd at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The tournament features third-ranked New Mexico, fourth-ranked South Florida, 20th-ranked SMU and TU. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, while all youth (under 8th grade) wearing a soccer jersey get in free.

The freshmen are leading the way for TU as Bryce Follensbee has a team-best eight shots, three of which were on goal, and two goals for four points. Cristian Mata has one goal, while Marcus Jordan and Bradley Bourgeois each have one assist. Senior Jake Dobkins scored the only other goal for Tulsa.
Mark Pais, a senior-transfer from St. Louis, Mo., played his first contest with the Hurricane and picked up the shutout with one save.
New Mexico captured a 3-2 win over then second-ranked UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif., while South Florida tallied a 2-1 victory over Michigan last week. SMU tied Campbell 1-1 in their season opener at home.
The Lobos have a 6-4-1 advantage in the series with the Golden Hurricane, while the Buffs have a 1-0-1 lead in the series with TU.
