Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa's ninth-ranked men's soccer team will host the 2013 Holiday Inn City Center Golden Hurricane Classic, featuring Ohio State, SMU, SIU-Edwardsville and TU, this Friday and Sunday, Sept. 6th and 8th, at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, while all youth (under 8th grade) wearing a soccer jersey get in free.

SMU will take on SIUE beginning at 5:00 pm, followed by the Tulsa-Ohio State contest on Friday, and then on Sunday, SMU will face Ohio State at 12 noon, and the Tulsa-SIUE match will follow.

In the opening weekend, TU dropped a 2-0 decision to sixth-ranked Creighton, but bounced back and earned a 3-0 win over Drake. TU amassed 38 shots, 14 of which were on goal, and took 16 corner kicks in the two games. Tony Rocha, Kyle Cumings and Bryce Follensbee all scored a goal for TU in the win over the Bulldogs, and Cody Mumma logged all 180 minutes between the posts and earned 11 saves and one shutout.

Tom McIntosh is just one win away from hitting the 200-win mark as the head coach at Tulsa. He has an overall record of 199-134-29 and has notched a conference mark of 79-56-17 as a member of three conferences. McIntosh is truly the epitome of Tulsa men's soccer. Since he first walked on campus as a player in 1986, McIntosh has been a part of 269 of TU's 355 victories either as a player (1986-88), an assistant coach (1989-91) or as the head coach.

The Cougars enter the tournament with a 2-0 record, topping Santa Clara (2-1) and San Jose State (2-0) last week, while the Buckeyes fell to UNC-Wilmington (2-1), but beat Northern Illinois (2-0) to open the season. SMU is 0-2 on the year after falling to Indiana (2-1) and Notre Dame (2-1).

Tulsa has a 2-1 advantage in the series with the Buckeyes, but the Cougars have won four of the five previous meetings with the Hurricane.
