Tulsa Soccer Teams Host Double-Header on Sunday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa women's and men's soccer teams will host a double-header on Sunday at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The women will face Marshall beginning at 1:00 pm, while the men's game against Memphis is set to start at 3:30 pm. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the north ticket gate.
The Hurricane (9-5-2, 3-3-1 C-USA) women earned their 10th shutout on the season on Friday to tie the school record for shutouts in a season set back in 1992. Claire Nicholson leads the TU attack with five goals and two assists for 12 points, while Lindsay Kirch and Stephanie Aitken have three goals apiece. Katie Bykowski has logged over 1,356 minutes in goal, picked up 53 saves and has eight shutouts this season.
The Thundering Herd has posted a 3-9-3 overall record and a 1-4-2 mark in C-USA. Angela DeSumma has a team-best four goals and three assists for 11 points, while Alyssa Cathey, Freya Holdaway and Casey Walsh have two goals each. Lindsey Kerns has started five games between the posts, and has a .73 GAA and a .943 saves percentage.
Tulsa has a 3-2 lead in the series with Marshall.
On the men's side, Tulsa (4-8, 0-3 C-USA) will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak when they take on Memphis. With a team-high four goals and three assists, Omar Mata leads the Hurricane with 11 points, while Corey Albertson has eight points and Stephen Roberson has seven points. Michael Murray has 38 saves and allowed 19 goals in 1,013 minutes between the posts.
The Tigers own a 7-3-1 mark this season, including a 1-2 record in C-USA play. Mark Sherrod has 11 goals and two assists for 24 points, while Liam Collins has a team-best nine assists. Conor Hurley has logged all 1,029 minutes in goal, picked up 30 saves and four shutouts, and has allowed 13 goals for a 1.14 GAA.
The series between TU and the Tigers is tied 3-3-1.
