Irving, Texas - Tulsa forward Cristian Mata was named as the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, as announced today by the league office. This was Mata's second career accolade as he was also selected on September 24th.

"Obviously I am very pleased for Cristian," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "It is an individual award, but it is a representation of what our team is doing collectively. The forwards have worked well together, so it is great to see one of them earn the award."

Mata, a freshman from Tulsa, Okla., had 11 shots, eight of which were on goal, two goals and two assists last week. He posted a team-best seven shots, and added one goal and two assists to lead the Golden Hurricane to a 5-2 win over Nebraska Omaha, and scored a goal and had a team-leading four shots against Memphis. Mata has 10 goals, including four game-winners, and four assists for 24 points on the year.
