Tulsa Men's Soccer Concludes Home Slate Against Kentucky on Saturday Oct. 26, 2012
Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa's 23rd-ranked men's soccer team will conclude the home slate against Kentucky on Saturday, Oct. 27th beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, while all youth (under 8th grade) wearing a soccer jersey get in free. TU will honor seniors Matt Boullt, Jake Dobkins, Mark Pais and Jon Wright prior to the contest. The Golden Hurricane has an impressive 10-4-1 overall record, a 4-1-1 mark in Conference USA and a 7-1 record at home. TU ranks second in total goals (38), third in scoring offense (2.53), fourth in total points (106), 18th in total assists (30) and 30th in won-lost-tied percentage (.70) among the nation's best. Freshman forward Cristian Mata has a team-best 11 goals and four assists for 26 points, while classmate Bryce Follensbee has eight goals, and Akeil Barrett and Omar Mata have five goals apiece. Pais has logged all 1,367 minutes between the posts, picked up 53 saves and earned five shutouts on the year. The Wildcats enter the contest with an 8-6-1 mark and a 3-1-1 record in C-USA, while on a three-game winning streak and have won five of seven road games this season. Tyler Riggs has a team-leading seven goals, while Charles Pettys and Matt Lodge have netted six goals each this season. Jack Van Arsdale has played the majority of minutes in goal, earned 38 saves and three shutouts. Tulsa has a 6-5-1 advantage in the all-time series with the Wildcats.
