In the nine-year history of the Conference USA Men's Soccer Championship, Tulsa has tallied a 15-3-2 overall record in the tournament. The Golden Hurricane won the tournament in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2012, and also played in the title game in 2005, 2010 and now 2013.
TU was picked as the Conference USA preseason favorite by the league's coaches, while New Mexico, Charlotte, Old Dominion and Kentucky rounded out the top five teams.
The Golden Hurricane is coached by Tom McIntosh, who is truly the epitome of Tulsa men's soccer. Since he first walked on campus as a player in 1986, McIntosh has been a part of 279 of TU's 365 victories either as a player (1986-88), an assistant coach (1989-91) or as the head coach.

The Golden Hurricane is on a four-game winning streak and has not lost the last six games. TU's last loss came against then fifth-ranked UAB, 2-1, on Oct. 19th. Tulsa has outscored its opponents, 37-18, this season, including a 13-4 advantage in the first frame.
Cristian Mata leads the way for TU, scoring 10 goals and adding seven assists for 27 points. Cody Mumma has played in eight games for a total of 719:29 minutes in goal, 25 saves and four shutouts this year, and Jake McGuire has logged 1070:57 in 12 games for 42 saves and three shutouts.
Charlotte has an 11-5-3 overall record and tallied a 4-3-2 mark in Conference USA, the exact same as Tulsa. The 49ers are led by Kyle Parker with 11 goals, while Giuseppe Gentile has netted eight scores. Klay Davis has logged the majority of minutes in goal, recorded 54 saves and earned eight shutouts this season.
TU met the 49ers for the first time earlier this season when the Golden Hurricane earned a 3-2 overtime win in Tulsa.
