Tulsa Men's Soccer to Host Northwestern in NCAA Round of 16 on Sunday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa's seventh-ranked and eighth-seeded men's soccer team will host fifth-ranked and ninth-seeded Northwestern in the Round of 16 in the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament on Sunday, Nov. 29th. Game time is set for 2:05 p.m. at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for youth (12 and under). Fans needing to purchase tickets are encouraged to enter through the east ticket gate.
The Golden Hurricane enters the contest with a 14-4-2 overall record and advanced to the third round after topping Saint Louis, 4-3, in overtime and receiving a first-round bye. The Wildcats also received a first-round bye and overcame Notre Dame, 3-1, in the second round.
TU is second in the nation in scoring offense, posting 48 goals on the season for 2.4 goals per game, and 12th with a .750 win-loss-tied percentage. Tulsa is led by Austin Neil who is 15th in the nation in scoring with 0.63 goals (12) per game and 22nd with 1.42 points (27) per game, while Ashley McInnes is 25th in points (25) with 1.39, 41st with 0.50 goals (9) and 47th with 0.38 assists (7) per game.
The Golden Hurricane defense, which is anchored by Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year Justin Chavez, Chris Taylor and Matt Boullt has posted six shutouts on the year. Andy Aguilar has logged 1,833 minutes in goal, recorded 81 saves, and owns a .771 saves percentage and a 1.18 goals-against average.
Northwestern's Matt Eliason has a team-high 13 goals and 29 points, while Piero Bellizzi and Jack Hillgard each have four goals. The Wildcats have combined for seven shutouts, while allowing 0.94 goals per game.
This is the second meeting between the two teams this season and in school history, as NU registered a 3-2 overtime win on Sept. 13 at the NIU Invitational.
