Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa men's soccer senior Justin Chavez was one of 52 standout players from across the country who have been invited to participate in the 2012 adidas MLS Player Combine, Jan. 6-10 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., as announced today by Major League Soccer. The 52 college seniors named come from 31 NCAA Division I schools and were selected by a panel of Division I coaches in conjunction with the MLS coaches.

A defender from Edmond, Okla., Chavez started in 75 of 77 career contests, including 12 of 13 games this past season, and had five goals and four assists for 14 career points. Chavez was a two-time honoree to the Hermann Trophy Watch List, was a two-time All-Conference USA First Team selection and a two-time NSCAA All-Region honoree, and was the C-USA Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore.
