TU Men's Tennis Team Continues Rolling as They Sweep Third Straight Opponent

Tulsa, Okla. - For the third time in two days the University of Tulsa men's tennis team swept their opponent, as they defeated Creighton, 7-0, Sunday morning at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa.
The Golden Hurricane men's tennis team has yet to drop a match in doubles competition. The streak extended against Creighton as the team of Andy Connelly and Diego Camacho posted an 8-2 victory over Tom McCarthy and Vinny Meens. Will Gray and Lucques Maasdorp blanked Richard Gonzalez and Jake Craney, 8-0. The brother team of Ricardo and Federico wrapped up the sweep as they defeated Justin Dennie and Chris Miller, 8-3. By winning the three matches Tulsa took a 1-0 lead in the duel match.
The early season dominance continued as the Golden Hurricane marched quickly through singles play as well. The TU team has not lost a set in singles competition. Achim Roth, playing in the number one position for TU, came from behind in both sets to dispatched Tom McCarthy, 6-2, 6-4. Federico Soriano defeated Vinny Meens 6-3, 6-4, while brother Ricardo defeated Richard Gonzalez.
The Golden Hurricane men's team will return to action at 6 p.m. Sunday to face Southwest Missouri State.
