Tulsa Men's Tennis Loses to No. 3 Ohio State, 7-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The 35th-ranked Tulsa men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to 3rd-ranked Ohio State in the second round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Sunday in Columbus, Ohio.
The Golden Hurricane (6-2) lost the doubles point with defeats in all three positions. Chase Buchanan and Justin Kronauge topped Ashley Watling and Philip Stephens, 8-7 (5), in the No. 1 spot. Marko Ballok and Alastair Barnes lost to Matt Allare and Shuhei Uzawa, 8-6, in the second flight, and Grant Ive and Rusty Turpin lost to Balazs Novak, 8-4, in the No. 3 position.
In singles, Alastair Barnes took the first set from Dino Marcan in the No. 3 position, but fell in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Marko Ballok won the first set against 34th-ranked Shuhei Uzawa in the fourth flight, but suffered a three-set defeat as well, losing 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (13-11).
Tulsa is back in action against Sacramento State at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 5th at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
