MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The University of Tulsa men's tennis team fell to Harvard 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

No. 34 Golden Hurricane (6-5) won the doubles point for the seventh time this season as Clifford Marsland and Dylan McCloskey defeated the No. 17 doubles team of Casey MacMaster and Denis Nguyen 6-4 at the No. 1 doubles position and Japie De Klerk and Alejandro Espejodefeated No. 48 doubles team of Nicky Hu and Brian Yeung 6-4.

No. 25 Harvard (2-2) tied the score at one after a win at the No. 6 singles position, but Espejo's 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 3 singles position over Brian Yeung gave TU a 2-1 lead.

The Crimson tied the score at two after a win at the No. 5 singles position and took a 3-2 lead after a win at the No. 4 singles position.

The Golden Hurricane tied the score at three after Clifford Marsland's6-5, 2-6, 6-3 win at the No. 2 singles position, but Harvard won the match after a win at the No. 1 singles position.

De Klerk lost the first set 6-5 and tied the second set at five to force a tie-breaker at the No. 1 singles position. Nguyen scored the first three points, but De Klerk scored three of the next four points to tie it at four. De Klerk won the game 7-5 and the set 6-5 to force a third set, but De Klerk lost the set 6-3.

The Golden Hurricane returns home for a four-match homestand starting with Arkansas on Friday at 6 p.m. and Michigan State on Sunday, Feb. 16 at noon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
