Orlando, Fla. - The top-seeded Tulsa men's tennis team defeated eighth-seeded Memphis, 4-0, on Friday afternoon at Conference USA Men's Tennis Championship in Orlando, Fla. The Golden Hurricane advances to the semifinals where they will face fifth-seeded Southern Miss tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.

No. 32 Tulsa (19-9) grabbed the doubles point with a pair of wins in the top two positions. James Seagraves and Alberto Sottocorno easily defeated Michael Hayes and Spencer Heflin, 8-3, in the No. 1 position, and Philip Stephens and Ashley Watling earned a tough 9-7 decision over Leon Nasemann and Jorge Vazquez in the second slot.

In singles, top-ranked senior Arnau Brugues cruised past 103rd-ranked Jorge Vazquez, 6-2, 6-2, in the top position, followed by 86th-ranked junior Philip Stephens topping Benny Fischer, 6-1, 6-3, in the second flight. Junior Marko Ballok sealed the 4-0 victory with a 6-4, 6-4, win against Michael Hayes in the No. 5 position.

The Conference USA Men's Tennis Championship continues through Sunday, April 19, at UCF in Orlando, Fla, with the champion earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
