Austin, Texas - The native Oklahoman freshmen trio of Will Gray, Andy Connelly, and Ross Cunningham won important matches at the final day of the Texas Invitational on Sunday for the University of Tulsa men's tennis team. Gray (Tulsa, Okla.-Holland Hall) won his match in the "Singles B" finals with a 6-3, 6-2 win over teammate Diego Camacho.

In doubles competition, the pairing of Connelly (Oklahoma City, Okla.-Bishop McGuinness) and Cunningham (Edmond, Okla.-Edmond North) won the finals in the doubles consolation bracket after posting an 8-5 decision against Michael Innerebner and Adrian Prpic of Texas Tech.

Also competiting for the Golden Hurricane on Sunday was Aleksander Charpantidis in the finals of the "Singles A-2" consolation bracket. Charpantidis dropped a 6-3, 6-2 match to Boris Kuharic of Oklahoma State.

The Tulsa men's and women's tennis teams will return to action Friday September 24 at the Hurricane Invitational in Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
