MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -

In his first action of the 2012 fall campaign, senior Clifford Marsland,won his first match at the USTA/ITA Central Region Championship at the Baseline Tennis Center on Friday, October 19.

Marsland, ranked No. 44 in the nation, dispatched Cristoph Haertel of Western Illinois 6-1, 6-1 to move onto the second round. He will face Badr Cherradl of SIU tomorrow.

In doubles play, the senior duo of Grant Ive and Tristan Jackson moved on to the Round of 16 after defeating UMKC’s Nino Hasandedic and Daniil Ivanov, 8-1. The Tulsa duo will face Anis Ghorbel and James McKie of Drake tomorrow.
