Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's men's completed play at the Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships with Diego Camacho and Ross Cunningham winning the doubles championship over teammates Arnau Brugues and Federico Soriano.

Camacho and Cunningham dropped the first game, but recovered to take a 2-1 lead. Brugues and Soriano responded, and the teams traded games, knotting the match at 3-3. Camacho and Cunningham then reeled off five straight games to win the doubles final by the total of 8-3.

In singles, Ricardo Soriano recovered from a slow start to push Oklahoma State's Ivan Puchkarov, but fell by the score of 6-1, 7-5.

Puchkarov jumped to an early 2-0 lead, but Soriano recovered to win game three. It wasn't enough, however, as Puchkarov ran off four straight points to take the first set 6-1.

Soriano opened the second set strong, taking a 2-0 lead. After dropping game three, he increased his lead to 4-1. Puchkarov clawed back into the match and won three games to tie the set at 4-4. Soriano took the next game and a 5-4 lead, but Puchkarov responded by winning three straight games to finish the second set 7-5.

"We're happy with the way Richie (Soriano) played," said Director of Tennis Vince Westbrook, "He had a really strong tournament, as did the entire team. We're really happy with our doubles play. We have four very good teams that we feel can play with anybody."

Camacho and Cunningham, as well as Ricardo Soriano will now advance to the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in Columbus, Ohio, hosted by Ohio State on November 2-5.
