TULSA, Okla. -

Former University of Tulsa men's tennis player Dustin Taylor was named the National Coach for Collegiate Tennis with the United States Tennis Association, the organization announced today.

Taylor will help facilitate the development of Top 100 ATP and WTA professional players through the collegiate pathway. He will be in charge of the USTA Collegiate Team and will plan different events for top junior and collegiate players.

Previously, Taylor's was a USTA National Coach, where his responsibilities include facilitating coaching and training programs to assist in the development of the best prospects at the USTA Training Centers.

Prior to his appointment with the USTA, Taylor worked as a Private Professional Tennis Coach, touring with world-ranked players, including Ryan Sweeting, Robert Kendrick and Tim Smyczek. He was also the Head Coach in 2008 for World Team Tennis, NY Sportimes, where he directed, coached and managed the team to a semifinal appearance and was named runner-up for the World Team Tennis Coach of the Year. Taylor coached Ryhne Williams, the 2005 Junior Orange Bowl Champion.

At Tulsa, Taylor earned 2003 All-America accolades after advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Men's Tennis Doubles Championship. During his three seasons at TU, Taylor tallied 48 singles victories and 72 doubles wins, was a two-time all-Western Athletic Conference singles and doubles team honoree, and was selected as the ITA/Farnsworth Regional Senior Player of the Year.
