TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa men's tennis team hosts two ranked opponents this weekend at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

No. 34 Golden Hurricane (6-5) faces No. 64 Arkansas (6-3) on Friday at 6 p.m. as part of College MatchDay and No. 50 Michigan State (4-4) on Sunday at noon.

Senior Clifford Marsland, who was named Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, leads the Hurricane with a 7-1 record at the No. 2 singles position this season and a No. 74 singles rankings.

The Perth, Australia native has posted a 2-1 record against nationally ranked opponents and a 4-1 record against regionally ranked opponents this season.

Senior Japie De Klerk also entered the rankings at No. 106 after psoting a 5-4 record this season at the No. 1 singles position and defeated No. 34 Mikelis Libietis of Tennessee 6-4, 6-1.

The Golden Hurricane also had two doubles team to enter the rankings as Marsland and sophomore Dylan McCloskey are ranked at No. 20 and De Klerk and junior Alejandro Espejo are ranked at No. 47.

Marsland and McCloskey are 6-3 at the No. 1 doubles position, including a 3-2 record against nationally ranked opponents, while De Klerk and Espejo has posted a 7-2 record at the No. 2 doubles position, including a 2-0 record against nationally ranked opponents and a 4-0 record against regionally ranked opponents.

The Golden Hurricane has faced nine of 11 opponents this season that are ranked and 10 of the final 11 opponents are currently ranked by the ITA.

The Golden Hurricane concludes its homestand with two matches next week as TU hosts No. 8 Texas A&M on Friday, Feb. 21 and No. 29 Oklahoma State on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.
