IRVING, Texas - For the second week in a row, the University of Tulsa men's tennis player Clifford Marsland was named Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.

The senior won both of his singles matches at the No. 2 singles position and paired with sophomore Dylan McCloskey and went 1-1 at the No. 1 doubles position.

With No. 34 Tulsa trailing 3-0 against No. 50 Michigan State at the Michael D. Case Tennis on Sunday, Marsland started TU's comeback winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to cut MSU's lead 3-1. The Golden Hurricane eventually won the match winning the final three matches for a 4-3 victory.

The Perth, Australia native tied the score at one against No. 64 Arkansas on Friday night at the Case Tennis Center after defeating Manfred Jeske 6-1, 6-4.

No. 20 TU doubles duo of Marsland and McCloskey defeated John Patrick Mullane and Drew Leid of Michigan State 8-2.

Marsland has won his last four singles matches and has posted a 9-1 record at the No. 2 singles position this season, while Marlsand and McCloskey has posted a 7-4 record this season at the No. 1 doubles position.

This is Marsland's eighth weekly award in his career, the third this season. The Golden Hurricane has won all five men's tennis weekly awards this season (Japie De Klerk and Alejandro Espejo).

No. 32 Golden Hurricane concludes its four-match homestand facing two top-25 teams of No. 8 Texas A&M (8-3) on Friday at 6 p.m. and No. 25 Oklahoma State (9-0) at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
