ESPEJO NAMED CONFERENCE USA MEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

IRVING, Texas - The University of Tulsa men's tennis player Alejandro Espejo was named Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.
The junior won both of his singles matches at the No. 3 position and both of his doubles matches with senior Japie De Klerk at the No. 2 position.
Espejo won the only match for Tulsa in a 6-1 loss to No. 8 Texas A&M on Friday as he defeated No. 25 Jeremy Efferding 7-6 (4), 6-3.
The Granada, Spain native won the clinching match against undefeated No. 25 Oklahoma State on Sunday as he defeated Arjun Kadhe 6-4, 6-4.
No. 47 doubles duo of Espejo and De Klerk won the only doubles match for the Golden Hurricane against the Aggies as they defeated Harrison Adams and Shane Vinsant 8-3 and defeated OSU's doubles duo of Matt Campbell and Jakob Sude 8-4.
Espejo has won his last nine matches and has posted a 12-2 record this season, including a perfect 8-0 record at the No. 3 singles position.
This is Espejo's third weekly award in his career, his second this season. The Golden Hurricane has won all six men's tennis weekly awards this season as De Klerk won the weekly award on Jan .21, while senior Clifford Marsland won the award three times on Jan. 28, Feb. 11 and Feb. 18 and Espejo's award on Feb. 4.
No. 32 Golden Hurricane (9-6) travels to Fort Worth, Texas to face No. 48 TCU (6-2) on Sunday, March 2 at 1 p.m.
